Steps to Get the Most Out of Your Dance Classes

If you are a dancer or a parent of a dancer, coming to the studio ready to work with a positive attitude will allow you and your fellow dancers to get the most out of every class. Setting a great example for others in the class will collectively improve the results of each class or practice session.

Here are some ways to make sure this happens…

  • Come to class with enthusiasm and be positive
  • Keep an open mind to ideas from the teacher or other dancers
  • Respect your teacher and other dancers in class
  • Get to class early and make sure you have time to warm up properly
  • Listen carefully – leave your cell phone in the dressing room
  • Be aware of the feelings of others in class
  • Keep in mind that practices are for PRACTICING, keep your focus
  • Be BIG, not petty
  • Always be loyal to your classmates
  • Just enjoy your self out on the dance floor
  • Help your teachers lead their classes through your example
  • Be your best every day, every class
  • Learn to accept critiques, it will make you a better dancer and student
  • Appreciate your teacher / coach
